Chicago Healthy Hot Spots: Hi-Vibe Superfood Juicery
She's buzzin'. She's boppin'. Beezus, she's feinin' for more smoothie bowls! Talk about some basic bee-ness.
This time around the healthy hot spots quest takes us to Hi-Vibe Superfood Juicery.
Hi-Vibe is an organic superfood juicery located in Chicago's River North neighborhood. They offer a wide variety of organic cold-pressed juices, acai bowls, superfood smoothies, bulletproof coffee (and bars!), matcha tea, bone broth, and a few other quick superfood bites.
I first discovered Hi-Vibe through their IG account (@hivibechi). It's pretty bomb. I saw a post about their cold-pressed juices, clicked through to their main page and BOOM, there it was... an acai smoothie bowl. Hands down, a beezy adventure was due in the near future.
I headed in, with tunnel vision ... [I must have a smoothie bowl]. Upon entering, I was surprised to see all of the options on their menu. I hummed, I hawed. The very polite cashier answered all of my questions and even gave me a couple free juice samples. What a gem! She said they were low on the green juices at the moment and were working to replenish the case (normally stocked on the middle shelf), but their most popular seasonal juices seemed to be the Green Envy (Pineapple, Kale, Turmeric, Lemon) or the French Kiss (Watermelon, Turmeric, Mint). Both were great!
You'll also see that in the right-hand corner of the case they carry bulletproof bars! Now, I'm not a bulletproof coffee drinker (I've had it, but it's not really my thing). I can, however, get down with their bars.
I commented to the cashier that this is one of the rare places in Chicago that I've noticed to carry the bars. She confirmed! She mentioned that many bulletproof loyalist routinely stop in to pick up a few bars instead of ordering by the case on Amazon. Pro-tip for any bulletproof fanatics! She said they initially started by stocking the Lemon Cookie flavor and have recently added Vanilla Shortbread and Fudge Brownie.
Okay, now let's get down to business. Smoothie bowls. Hi-Vibe offers a good variety - 6, I believe [acai, cacao acai, hybrid, pitaya, KETO and pumpkin]. Again, I asked the cashier what was their most popular bowl. She recommended that for newbs - like myself - I should try their original acai. The base is comprised of organic acai and it is packed with strawberries, raw Hi-Vibe granola, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, bee pollen, shredded coconut, sprouted gourmet nut butter. mhmm. Bee pollen?! Now I'm buzzin'.
I can confirm, it's bee-boppin' great. I loved the combo of the crunchy granola with the creamy nut butter. The acai base is oh so sweet and I'm d-y-i-n-g [DED] because I LOVE coconut. 10/10. Doesn't it look delicious?! I couldn't contain myself and even had to take a bite before this photo... and then I said, BEEZUS, get it together and snap a pic for the 'gram. seeesh.
No doubt, I will be back for sure to try the other varieties.
Thanks b-b-bunches, Hi-Vibe!
